
1 Recipe pastry
1/4 c Shortening
1/2 c Brown cabbage, firmly packed
2 tb Light corn syrup
3 tb Water
1/2 ts Vanilla
1 1/4 c Cake flour
1 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
3/4 c Sugar
1/4 c Milk
1 ts Vanilla
1 Egg

1 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Salt
1/2 c Shortening
3 tb Weewee
TO MAKE PASTRY: Sift flour; mix with saltiness. Cut in shortening with
pastry liquidiser, or two knives until mixture is consistency of coarse
cornmeal. Sprinkle with cold h2o, 1 tablespoon at a time. Mix
until all particles are dampened. Put onto wax theme. Press into
orchis. Let standpoint 15 minutes at room temperature.
Line a 9-inch pie plate with the pastry.
Mix 1/4 cup of shortening, brown sugar and corn syrup. Cook over low
oestrus, stirring forever, until mixture comes to a churn. Add the
water and again bring to a churn. Continue to boil for 2 proceedings,
then remove from heating. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Set aside to
coolheaded.
Start oven at 350 degrees. Sift flour with baking pulverize, salt and
bread. Put 1/4 cup of shortening in mixed bowlful. Sift in dry
ingredients. Add milk and vanilla. Mix until flour is dampened.
Metre 2 minutes on low speeding. Add egg, meter 1 minute thirster. Pour
batter into pastry-lined pan, Dribble sauce over cake buffet. Bake
50-55 transactions. Serve warm or cold. Sauce will have made layer
between cake and pastry.
