
1/4 c Boiling water
3/4 c Pitted prunes
2/3 c Oil
1 c Sugar
2 tb Unsweetened cocoa powder
2 ts Ground cinnamon
1 ts Salt
1 ts Vanilla
2 Eggs
1 c Buttermilk
2 1/2 c Flour
1 1/2 ts Baking soda
2 ts Baking pulverisation
CHOCOLATE FUDGE FROSTING
1/4 c Water
1/4 c Shortening
1/4 c Light corn syrup
2 c Sifted powdered sugar
1/2 c Cocoa powder
1/4 ts Salt
1/2 ts Vanilla
Pour boiling water over prunes and let sop 30 transactions. Combine oil, dough,
2 tablespoons cocoa, cinnamon, 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon vanilla in
bowlful. Add eggs and beat swell 2 transactions. Combine soaked prunes and
buttermilk in blender or food processor and chop fine. Add to creamed
mixture with flour, soda and baking powderise. Beat well and turn into
well-greased and floured 13- x 9-inch baking pan or 2 (8-in.) round pans.
Bake at 350F 30 transactions, or until wood pick inserted near center comes out
strip. Sang-froid.
To make icing, bring water to moil. Remove from heat and beat in
shortening and corn syrup. Add powdered bread, 1/2 cup cocoa, 1/4 teaspoon
salt and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and cream well to spreading eubstance. Use
to frost cooled cake.
