2 1/2 c Boiling water
2 c Quick rolled oats
3 c Flour
1 ts Soda
7 ts Baking powder
1 ts Salt
2 ts Cinnamon
1 c Butter
2 c Granulated sugar
2 c Brown sugar
4 Egg
TOPPING
1/2 c Butter
1/2 c Heavy cream
2 ts Vanilla
1 c Brown sugar
2 2/3 c Coconut
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Patty: Pour boiling water over oats and allow to standpoint. Sift flour1 tonic,
baking pulverise, salt and cinnamon. Cream butter and sugars until light and
fluffy. Beat in egg. Alternate flour mixture and cooled oats, mixing good.
Pour into greased and floured cake pan. Bake until cake springs back and
toothpick comes out unobjectionable.
Topping: Place all ingredients in a heavy saucepan and oestrus, stirring, to
boiling, Pour evenly over cake and grilling until toasted.
