Cold Water Fruit Cake



Ingrients & Directions


2 c White sugar
2 tb Shortening
1 ts Cinnamon,
1 ts Nutmeg
1 ts Cloves
1 lb Raisins (sown)
2 c Cold water
3 c Flour
1 ts Soda
1 ts Salt
1 ts Vanilla


combining 1st.7 ingrediences in saucepan, stir and bring to a boil over
medium heat and furuncle 5 min. Let sang-froid. Then add vanilla. Add the
flour, soda and salt assortment & at the same time add cut up cherries &
nuts at least a 1/2 cup each. I also add a cup regular raisins. Pour
batter into a greased & floured tube pan and broil in
350 oven 1 1/2 hrs.
