
2 1/2 c Flour
2 c Brown sugar
1/2 ts Salt
2/3 c Shortening
2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Soda
1/2 ts Cinnamon
1/2 ts Nutmeg
1 c Sour milk
2 Egg; (well beaten)
Additional cinnamon
Blend flour, cabbage, saltiness, and shortening until mixture resembles fine
crumbs. Second-stringer 1/2 cup for topping. Add baking powder and spices; mix
good. Add milk and egg; mix good. Place in 2 cake pans or one 13 x 9-inch
pan and sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Disperse 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and
chopped nuts on top. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes for layers or
40 minutes for lounge.
