
2 c Cake flour
2 ts Baking Powder
1/4 ts Salt
1/2 c Butter; or shortening
1 c Sugar
2/3 c Milk
1 ts Vanilla
3 Egg whites; stiffly beaten
Sift flour erstwhile, quantity, add baking powder and salt and sift together
threefold. Cream butter thoroughly add sugar gradually, and cream
together until light and fluffy. Add flour, alternately with milk a small
amount at a time, beating after each addition until still. Add vanilla.
Fold in egg whites quickly and good. Bake in two lubricated 8-inch layer
pans in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) 25 to 30 proceedings. Spread Fresh
Strawberry Icing ( see recipe between layers and on top and sides of
coat. Spread Fresh Strawberry Glace ( see recipe 43 ) over ice,
letting it run down on sides: Let standpoint 1 hour to become immobile.
