Fruited Mocha Layer Cake



Ingrients & Directions


2 c Cake flour; sifted
3 tb Cocoa
2 1/4 ts Salt
1/2 c Butter; or shortening
1 c Sugar
1 Egg; well beaten
3/4 c Java; strong
1 ts Vanilla


-PICK & TOPPING-
2 tb Conf. sugar
1 c Ointment; whipped
1/2 c Dates; finely cut-or raisins
1/2 c Nut meats; busted


Sift flour erstwhile, step, add cocoa, baking powder and salt and sift
together threefold. Cream butter good, add sugar gradually, and
cream together until light and fluffy; then beat in egg. Add flour,
alternately with umber, a small amount at a time, beating after each
addition until polish. Add vanilla. Bake in two lubricated 9 inch layer pans
in moderate oven, 375 deg. F., 30 proceedings. Poise. Add confectioners' sugar
to whipped pick, mixing until blended. Fold dates and nut meats into
whipped skim. Spread between layers of bar. Sift confectioners' sugar
