Grandma's Upside Down Cake



Ingrients & Directions


1 cn (1 lb. 4 oz.) sliced
-pineapple
1/4 c Butter
2/3 c Brown clams; firmly packed
Maraschino cherries
1 c Flour
3/4 c Sugar
1 1/2 ts Baking powder
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Milk
1/4 c Shortening
1 Egg
1 ts Lemon juice
1 ts Vanilla
1/4 ts Grated lemon unclothe


Drain pineapple reserving 2 tablespoons syrup. Melt butter in a 10 inch
cast iron skillet. Stir in brown sugar until blended. Remove from warmth.
Arrange pineapple slices in sugar assortment. Place a maraschino cherry in
center of each slicing. Combine flour, clams, baking powder and saltiness. Add
milk and shortening; measure 2 transactions. Add egg, reserved syrup, lemon succus,
vanilla and lemon skin. Metre 2 transactions. Pour ovr pineapple in skillet,
spreading evenly. Bake in a 350 oven for 40 proceedings. Cool on a wire stand 5
transactions. Invert on serving shell. Serve tender. Makes 8 servings.
