1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Boiling water
1/2 c Brown sugar
1/2 c Molasses
1 Egg, beaten
1 1/2 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1/2 c Baking powder
1/2 ts Baking soda
3/4 ts Cinnamon
3/4 ts Gingerroot

Put shortening in a bowl and pour in boiling h2o. Add cabbage,
molasses and egg. Stir the flour, baking pulverize, baking soda and
spices unitedly. Add to shortening mixture and beat until mixed swell.
Batter will be cut. Pour into lubricated 8 inch pan. Bake at
350 deg f for 30 to 35 proceedings.
