Moist Supper Cake



Ingrients & Directions


1 1/4 c Boiling Dr Pepper
1 c Quick-cooking oats
1/2 c Shortening
1/2 c Granulated sugar
1 c Brown sugar
2 Eggs
1 1/3 c Flour
1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Baking soda
1/2 ts Nutmeg


Pour Dr Pepper over oats, stir and let viewpoint 15 to 20 transactions. Lag,
cream shortening, add sugars gradually and cream good. Add egg, beating
until mixture is fluffy. Sift flour with saltiness, soda and nutmeg. Add flour
mixture to creamed assortment, mixing good. Add oatmeal mixture and mix
good. Pour into 9 x 9 x 2-inch pan, greased and floured. Bake at 375?
for 40 to 45 minutes or until cake tests through. Remove from oven. Spread
topping over hot cake and place under broiler. Broil until bubbly and
lightly browned. Serve tender.


Hymie: 12 to 16 servings


TOPPING: Mix 1/3 cup melted butter with 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup light
cream and 1 cup fine grated coconut.
