Molasses Devil's Food Cake



Ingrients & Directions


2/3 c Shortening 3 Sqs unsweetened cocoa,
2/3 c Gelt -melted
1 ts Tonic 2 Eggs
1 ts Saltiness 1/2 c Flour
1 ts Vanilla 3/4 c Sour milk
2/3 c Molasses


Cream shortening. Add sugar gradually. Add pop, saltiness, and vanilla.
Mix in molasses and melted cocoa. Beat in egg. Blend in flour
alternately with sour milk. Pour into 2 well greased and floured 8
inch layer cake pans.


Bake at 375 degrees for 24 proceedings. Sang-froid. Ice, if desired.
