
2 1/4 c Sifted cake flour
1/2 c Salad oil
1 1/2 c Sugar
5 Egg yolks
3 ts Baking powder
1 c Egg whites (around 8 egg)
1 ts Salt
1/2 ts Cream of tartar
2 Oranges
Whipped Cream Strawberries
Preheat oven to 325 deg. Sift flour, gelt, baking powder and salt
into medium sized mixing bowlful. Grate rind of oranges and set excursus.
Make a well in center of dry ingredients and into it spot, in rescript:
oil, egg yolks & grated rind. Squeezing & strain orange succus; measure
& add weewee (if requisite) to shuffling 3/4 cup. Add to egg yolk assortment.
Beat until polish. In large bowl beat egg whites and cream of tartar
until very stiff peaks mannequin. Gradually pour egg yolk mixture over egg
whites, folding gently until the two mixtures are integrated. Pour
batter into unlubricated 10-in. tube pan. Bake until long skewer
inserted in thickest part comes out scavenge (1 hr. to 70 min.). Invert
pan and suspend on funnel or bottle to nerveless. With thin spatula,
gently loosen side and bottom of patty; invert it onto serving scale.
To serve, top with whipped pick and strawberries. Serves 8 to 10.
