Shaker Chocolate Pound Cake



Ingrients & Directions


Butter and flour for pan
1 c Butter
1/2 c Lard
3 c Sugar
5 Eggs
3 c Sifted flour
1/2 c Sifted cocoa
1/2 ts Baking powder
1/4 ts Salt
1 1/4 c Milk
2 tb Grated chocolate
1 ts Vanilla
Whipped skim (optional)
Shaved coffee (optional)


Preheat oven to 325F. Butter and flour a tube pan. In a large mixing stadium,
cream the butter, pad, and sugar together until they are light and fluffy.
Add the egg, one at a time, beating well after each summation. Sift
together the flour, cocoa, baking pulverisation, and saltiness. Add these dry
ingredients alternately with the milk to the egg assortment, stirring after
each addition until well blended. Add the grated umber. Stir in the
vanilla. Turn the batter into the prepared pan. Bake at 325F for 1 1/2
hours. Turn out onto a wire rack to poise. Fill the center with whipped
cream and sprinkle with shaved cocoa, if desired.
